What did you do immediately after high school was over?

I went to Japan right after graduation, spent the summer in Tokyo, got a job, saved money, and came back in the Fall to attend UC Davis.

What is your best memory of Dana Hills?

Going to football games, giving Kim Beaver a hard time, working on the Sr. year Homecoming float, and dancing atop the float to The Vapors’ “Turning Japanese” song.

What has been your single-most life changing event since DHHS?

While in Japan, I found out my brother had a double stroke at age 33. It made me realize we may be young but we’re not Superman. I learned to enjoy life more, not stress. Life is meant to be enjoyed.

Where are you living now? And what are you doing?

I spend half my time in Hollywood working as a Sushi Chef and the other half at my mom’s house in Laguna Niguel.

Any regrets? Or big plans ahead for change?

I wish I had studied more in college. Maybe done post-grad studies. I’ve lived in many different countries, traveling all over the world making sushi. I plan to continue exploring.

Any comments for classmates approaching you at the reunion?

I still feel like I’m 18 and back in high school! I’m not married, no kids. Not sure I feel grown up, even though I’m approaching 40. It can’t be 20 years! Mentally I’m still young, not that old!
